Assistant Relationship Manager

Julius Bär is looking for an Assistant Relationship Manager in Hong Kong with 3–5 years of experience in wealth management to support Relationship Managers with client service, administrative tasks, and compliance.

Tasks

  • Assist MRMs or MDMs in managing assigned customer accounts, processes, procedures, documents, and CRM records while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Conducting customer research (data collection, analysis, tracking, etc.)
  • Assistance with the preparation of proposals, reports, client and private banking reports, as well as the completion of policy reviews (e.g., proposals to the client’s family office)
  • Coordinating communications, handling inquiries from the investment departments, and proactively liaising with clients (troubleshooting, review, follow-up, etc.)
  • Regular review and assignment of new investment instructions in preparation
  • Coordination of tasks, processes, and document development (e.g., operational problem management)
  • Assistance with reporting to management, e.g., monthly reports and recommendations, in consultation with the team
  • Preparing professional meal recommendations for investment committees or boards of directors; coordinating meetings or site visits
  • Assistance in preparing customer proposals for MRM
  • Supporting makers in updating regulatory and compliance procedures, as well as in their development, by reviewing ongoing implementations and changes
  • Tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of these ongoing processes
  • Ensuring that customers (existing or potential) are prioritized based on their needs
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations with respect to the scope of the client’s mandate
  • Preparation of comprehensive and actionable documents: a central presentation file containing the documentation for the relevant book (e.g., Chinese law)

Requirements

  • A completed degree (bachelor's/master's) in Asian finance and current developments in Pacific banking
  • Strong familiarity with geographic markets (including, for example, familiarity with the legal and regulatory environment of an offshore jurisdiction)
  • Representative under MAS SFA and/or FAA
  • Ability to adapt to colleagues from diverse backgrounds
  • More open, friendly, and flexible general customer interactions, as well as process improvements
  • Ability to communicate in a competent and professional manner
  • Organized and forward-thinking, with the ability to quickly acquire new skills and work in a results-oriented manner
