Assistant Relationship Manager

The Assistant Relationship Manager supports one or more Relationship Managers in daily operations, administration, and customer management, and interacts with internal and external stakeholders. The ARM is expected to provide high-quality service and serve as a role model for RMs/Heads in implementing customized solutions for customers.

Tasks

The Assistant Relationship Manager supports one or more Relationship Managers/Group Heads in daily operations, administration, and client management. Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting relationship managers in client interactions and all related tasks
  • Customization of client requests (reporting, statistics, mailings, etc.)
  • Managing the Relationship Manager's calendar, preparing for client meetings, organizing business trips, and following up on client calls, meetings, or business trips
  • Compilation of presentations, support in the preparation of investment proposals and marketing activities
  • Ensuring coverage in your own absence

Risk management and controls

The Assistant Relationship Manager actively supports risk management (first line of defense) by:
  • Raise concerns, track issues, and escalate when in doubt
  • Ensures compliance with local regulations and internal policies and standards
  • Ensures that outstanding issues and escalated defects are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensures that ethical and compliant behavior is demonstrated within their area of responsibility

Regulatory responsibilities

The Assistant Relationship Manager must:
  • Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors, including honesty, integrity, diligence, and fairness
  • Manage conflicts of interest and continuously develop one's skills and knowledge

The Assistant Relationship Manager should:

  • Have a basic understanding of global financial markets and current industry trends
  • Have a strong understanding of the geographic market, i.e., be familiar with the legal and regulatory environment and possess cultural sensitivity
