Assistant Relationship Manager

The Assistant Relationship Manager supports Relationship Managers with client management, administrative tasks, and risk management in the private banking sector. This full-time position is based in Singapore and requires knowledge of financial markets as well as adherence to internal compliance standards.

Tasks

  • Support the RM/GH in customer interactions and all related tasks (systems, processes, files, documents, etc.) with a high level of quality, precision, and timely responsiveness
  • Customization of customer requests (reports, statistics, mailings, etc.)
  • Managing the RM/GH's calendar, preparing for client meetings, organizing business trips, and handling the follow-up work related to client calls, client meetings, or business trips for the RM/GH
  • Wrapping up presentations, assisting with the preparation of investment proposals and marketing activities, as needed; reception duties, meetings, business trips, events, etc.
  • Ensuring that someone can fill in for you when you are absent
  • Regularly gathering and sharing relevant information needed for the job
  • Conducting reviews, planning, and documenting one's own work
  • Support the RM/GH in implementing projects and initiatives in close coordination with the Business Manager team
  • Providing professional suggestions for improvement based on experience, incidents, and observations
  • Management of the Expense Reimbursement Process for RM/GH
  • Active support for risk management (supporting the first line of defense), e.g., with customer documentation, through appropriate tracking of issues and escalation when in doubt
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations and adherence to internal policies and standards (e.g., opening accounts, issuing payment instructions, reviewing customer calls, or approving collaboration at one’s own level with the respective Relationship Managers, General Managers, and Team Business Managers)
  • Ensuring that outstanding issues and escalated defects are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensuring appropriate ethical and compliant conduct within one's area of responsibility
  • Ensuring that customer interactions and orders are documented accurately, clearly, and comprehensively using the appropriate tool (e.g., CRM, DMS)
  • Demonstrating appropriate values and behaviors, including, but not limited to, standards of honesty, integrity, diligence, and conscientiousness; fair dealing (fair treatment of customers); management of conflicts of interest; competence and continuous development; appropriate risk management; and compliance with applicable rules and regulations

Requirements

  • A solid understanding of the relevant products and services in private banking
  • Basic knowledge of global financial markets and current industry trends
  • Strong familiarity with the geographic markets covered, i.e., familiarity with the local and regulatory environment
