Assistant Relationship Manager

Julius Bär is seeking an Assistant Relationship Manager for its Hong Kong office to support Relationship Managers in serving high-net-worth private clients in the private banking division. This full-time position involves administrative tasks, KYC processes, CRM management, and actively supporting client acquisition and relationship management.

Tasks

  • Management and escalation of customer inquiries and information.
  • Track all client appointments and plan the weekly schedule for 1–2 Relationship Managers (RMs).
  • Assisting and supporting the relevant specialist during various investment meetings to analyze the project's viability.
  • Conducting KYC checks for prospective and new customers.
  • Creating and maintaining CRM data to support customer relationships and ensuring compliance with KPIs.
  • Set up billing and administration for new accounts.
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication with customers, team members, and companies on their behalf.
  • Performing routine administrative tasks, such as processing checks, wire transfers, bank statements, opening accounts, etc.
  • Research on client companies, ownership structures, and business structures.
  • Support in identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities in the pipeline (e.g., portfolio rebalancing, asset planning, goal tracking).
  • Assistance with reviewing and reporting on RM/manager goals (e.g., sales, AUM, etc.).
  • Review of recommendations from third parties and internal recommendations.
  • Support relationship planning and business development through close collaboration with the sales and marketing teams.
  • Marketing communications with customers (e.g., event details, new publications, etc.).
  • Coordination with clients' accountants, legal advisors, or attorneys, etc.

Requirements

  • Strong skills and a friendly demeanor toward clients (serves them), I-R, familiar with high-end wealth management products, and solid global experience.
  • Sales-oriented mindset, strong and meticulous writing skills, and the ability to perform multiple tasks with a high degree of care.
  • Proactive communication regarding internal matters and active collaboration within the team environment.
  • Personal integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Basic knowledge of global financial markets and current industry trends.
  • A strong passion for finance, economics, or related fields.
  • A good understanding of how banks generally operate and how their customers interact with them.
  • Understanding of the key customer investment process and the associated KYC and compliance procedures.
  • Previous direct experience working with major clients in the region is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Working under pressure with familiar trading platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of finance, economics, or business administration.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
  • Native Spanish speakers from other AFC regions.

  • This role is an entry-level position within the Relationship Management Banking (RMB) & Private Banking segment.
  • Our goal is to support and contribute to the overall functioning of our Relationship Manager (AAM).
  • Work Location: Julius Bär Hong Kong Office, 22nd Floor, East Tower, Plaza 66, 8 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong.
  • Working hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; additional evening and weekend work is expected depending on customer needs.
