Associate - Corporate Development (M&A) & Strategy
The position of Associate - Corporate Development (M&A) & Strategy at Alantra in Madrid offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment and lead strategic projects and corporate initiatives. The ideal candidate should have 4-7 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or corporate strategy, and possess strong financial and analytical skills as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.
Tasks
- Strategic projects & corporate initiatives: Leading and managing a wide range of strategic projects across the company (growth initiatives, investment monitoring, corporate restructuring, etc.) to ensure high quality and alignment with the company's objectives.
- Financial & business analysis: Performing in-depth financial, operational, and strategic analyses of various business areas (KPIs, performance tracking, profitability, benchmarking, etc.) to support decision-making.
- Executive reporting: Preparation and presentation of clear, meaningful materials for senior management, the board of directors, and executive committees.
- Stakeholder management: Acting as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment between teams.
- People Leadership: Providing guidance and mentoring to junior team members, coordinating resources to ensure that deliverables are completed on time and to the highest standard.
- Corporate development (in-house M&A team): Execution of all types of transactions (acquisitions, capital increases, joint ventures, etc.) – more than 30 deals analyzed/executed in 2023. Analysis of companies and preparation and review of execution documents and other deliverables such as proposals, IMs, financial models, due diligence and legal agreements.
Requirements
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or corporate strategy at top companies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-quality projects simultaneously, balancing attention to detail with strategic vision.
- Proactive, structured, and problem-solving mindset with strong business judgment.
- Fluent English is mandatory (Spanish is a plus).
