About the role

As an Associate Credit Trader, you will help manage our systematic and discretionary credit trading strategies and support the development of a best-in-class trading platform for our firm. You will be part of a multi-asset systematic and discretionary credit trading team that includes Market Making, Relative Value, Event Driven, and Systematic Credit.

Key tasks

  • Primarily help managing our discretionary and systematic credit trading strategies by maximizing our technological and human capabilities. Exposure to Systematic Strategies – Bloomberg and Discursive trading.
  • Liaising and partnering with the investment teams to source new execution trading ideas, strategies, and technology
  • Contribute to improvements across signal development, portfolio construction, risk management, and trading
  • Contribute to the development, optimization, and performance of our systematic and discretionary strategies
  • Engage and maintain relationships with our counterparties
  • Gather market intelligence from salespeople and traders on moves, flows, and liquidity opportunities to help the investment team make informed decisions on trading dynamics, positioning and character of market microstructures, transaction costs, participants, and products in the exchange-traded products and OTC markets.
  • Liaise with portfolio managers to keep them informed of names impacting respective portfolios
  • Collaborate with various systematic and quantitative teams on market data projects
  • Determine the appropriateness of execution venues for various trades
  • Initiation of execution performance and progress assessments on selected names and any other directions on scope of delegated authority to act on behalf of designations/firm/client

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience trading in a financial institution or relevant credit technical experience
  • Advanced skill level - programming languages such as Python, for example
  • Strong understanding of the functioning of fixed income markets
  • Hands-on attitude willing to get involved with technology and projects across the firm
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a leading edge from a quantitative background
  • Results-oriented and disciplined. Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to think quickly.
  • Interpersonal skills with a creative analytical approach to problem solving. Curious, entrepreneurial, and willing/able to get involved with projects across the firm.
  • Strong personal skills to build strong relationships across investment management teams and regions. Clear, concise, and transparent communicator
  • Team player, collaborative, customer-focused, and results-driven

Salary and benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation packages would also include benefits and a discretionary bonus; this is the base salary range that the Company believes it will pay for this position if all of the above requirements of the job are fully met.

  • US Pay Range: $100,000 - $200,000 USD
