About the role

The Global Credit Trader Team maximizes alpha within the investment process through market knowledge, trading opportunities, use of technology, and strict execution of research and TCA trade organization. Leveraging expertise from sales, trading, and risk to achieve consistent performance. For the sake of clarity, traders are not authorized to make investment decisions. As a High Touch Associate Trader, you will help manage our discretionary credit and systematic macro trading strategies. You will be part of the 8-person Single Name Group Credit trading team, with a primary focus on a variety of credit instruments, including but not limited to High Grade (HY), EM, Cash CCGs, Conversions, and ABS. Main tasks

  • Primarily assist in managing our discretionary credit trading strategies by maximizing our execution platform and technology. Expand the mandate to include trading systematic macro strategies.
  • Coordination with the company's investment management function regarding all trading, technology, market data, and market connectivity aspects.
  • Collaboration and partnership with investment teams in implementing execution strategies.
  • Contribution to improvements in signal development, portfolio construction, risk management, and trade recording.
  • Driving the development of our trading platforms, infrastructure, and technology.
  • Monitoring the performance and analytical tools of our discretionary trading strategies.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with our key counterparties.
  • Compile market information from market movements, flows, and liquidity opportunities to inform the investment team about market dynamics. Contribute to the company's understanding of market structure, execution costs, participants, and products in the area of exchange-traded products and UTP.
  • Monitoring internal trading limits and other restrictions on the scope of delegated authority to act on behalf of the discretionary fund/client.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of trading experience at a financial institution or relevant technical experience in the credit sector.
  • Programming skills in a high-level language such as Python are required.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of credit instruments (including, but not limited to, single name corporate credit (HG, HY, EM), cash CCGs, conversions, loans, and ABS).
  • Strong academic background and a degree from a leading university.
  • Practical and positive attitude; adaptability and resilience.
  • Strong data, application (Tableau), and market data skills.
  • Detail-oriented, meticulous, and disciplined. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask.
  • Intellectually curious with a creative, analytical approach to problem solving. Curious, entrepreneurial, and innovative, willing to engage with technology and projects across the organization.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work across investment management teams and regions. Clear, concise, and transparent communicator.
