Job description

As a member of the Business and Investment Production Support (BIPS) team, the Associate Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the development and maintenance of technology processes within the company. This includes providing technical support to various business units and collaborating with technical leads, engineers, and change management coordinators to respond to new models and strategies.

Tasks

The most important tasks include:
  • Control M Scheduling: Defining and Enforcing Standards in Control M Scheduling Software
  • Metrics/Migration: Deployment of new models and analyses in the production environment
  • Production maintenance: Executing processes across various systems to ensure stability and efficiency
  • Sprint Collaboration: Participate in weekly sprints to prioritize and assign tasks, including schedules, data, and code changes
  • Software Configuration: Collaborating with developers to address changes to schedules, code modifications, performance issues, bugs, and root cause analysis, while leveraging problem management processes
  • Incident Management: Tracking and managing production incidents, including coordinating with relevant teams, such as developers and problem management teams
  • Change Management: Following change management processes to review, test, and implement changes
  • Release Management: Executing the weekly release process to deploy code changes from the staging environment to the production environment
  • Process Improvement: Recommendation and implementation of workflow improvements, enhancements, and adjustments to meet business requirements
  • On-call duty: Ability and willingness to fulfill on-call responsibilities on a weekly rotation, including nights and weekends

Requirements

The most important requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages
  • Experience in Unix/Linux environments
  • Understanding of IT service management frameworks and best practices
The following are advantageous:
  • Degree in computer science or a STEM field
  • Experience in a production/DevOps environment
  • Experience with structured products and Control M scheduling/working with data feeds
  • Experience with source control tools and coordinating code changes
  • Understanding of incident management frameworks and best practices
  • Understanding IT Service Management Frameworks
