Associate Engineer

Job description

As a member of the Business and Investment Production Support (BIPS) team, the Associate Engineer plays a key role in supporting the company’s automation and industrialization processes. This includes providing technical support for various processes, maintaining and improving the production environment, and offering technical support for various processes such as database roles, modeling tools, reporting, and analytics.

Tasks

- Control M Scheduling: Establishing and improving standards within the Control M scheduling software. - Metadata Migration: Implementing new models and analyses in the production environment. Debugging real-time issues that impact production performance and applications requiring scalability and efficiency. - Sprint Collaboration: Participating in weekly sprints to prioritize and assign case work, including schedules, data, and code changes. - Software Configuration: Collaborating with developers to align schedule changes with code modifications, installations, platform drifts, and rollouts. - Communication: Effectively communicate with business and investment staff regarding schedules, production drifts, and issues. - Incident Management: Track and manage production incidents, coordinating with necessary teams—including developers, product owners, and support staff—during triage. - Change Management: Adhering to change management best practices for reviewing, testing, and implementing changes. - Release Management: Executing weekly release processes, transitioning code changes from the staging to the production environment. - Process Improvement: Recommending and leading the implementation of workflow improvements, enhancements, and on-site projects focused on production maintenance, process improvements, and meeting business needs. - On-call duties: Ability and willingness to fulfill on-call responsibilities on a weekly rotation, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. - Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages, ideally Python. - Experience with Unix/Linux environments. - Experience with source control tools and coordinating code changes. - Understanding of incident management frameworks and best practices. - Understanding of database management systems and monitoring.

Desirable qualifications

- Degree in computer science or a related STEM field. - Experience working in a production environment with tight deadlines. - Experience with installation tools and Control M. - Experience with source control tools and coordinating code changes. - Understanding of incident management frameworks and best practices. - Solid understanding of relational database concepts.
