Associate Engineer
As an Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for the stability, efficiency, and control of software systems at Man Group and will support various processes such as database jobs, modeling tools, and analytics. You will work closely with developers, investment teams, and technology managers to implement new models and strategies and optimize existing processes.
Job Overview
As a member of the Business and Investment Production Support (BIPS) team, the Associate Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and control of Man Group's software systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Control M Scheduling: Establish and enhance standards within the Control M scheduling software.
- Production Monitoring: Deploy new models and analytics into the production environment. Debug real-time issues across various systems.
- Sprint Collaboration: Participate in weekly sprints to prioritize and assign case work, including schedule, data, and code changes.
- Software Configuration: Work with developers to adjust schedule changes with code modifications, installation, verification, diagnostics, and performance tuning.
- Incident Management: Troubleshoot production incidents, coordinating with necessary teams, such as technology, infrastructure, and business users.
- Release Management: Execute the weekly release process, transforming code changes from staging to production.
- Change Management: Follow change management best practices to review, test, and implement changes.
- Release Automation: Execute case-focused projects on production maintenance process improvements and addressing business needs.
- On-Call Duties: Ability and willingness to perform on-call responsibilities on a weekly rotation, including nights and weekends.

Technology and Business Skills
Essential
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages.
- Experience capable of learning to Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with source control tools and coordinating code changes.
- Understanding of incident management frameworks and best practices.
- Understanding of database concepts.

- Degree in computer science or related STEM field.
- Experience in a production deadline environment.

Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 USD. Compensation packages would also include benefits and a discretionary bonus.
