The Associate, Hedge Fund Solutions Core Portfolio Management Associate, Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) assists in the management of hedge fund solutions and the implementation of investment strategies. The role includes tasks such as monitoring trade executions, risk management and communication with various teams within the firm.

Overview

  • The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team provides investment solutions and active management expertise across a broad range of pooled funds, individual accounts and bespoke solutions.
  • MASS manages over USD 130 billion in assets and has a strong presence in the USA, Europe, Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.
  • The Hedge Fund Solutions (HFS) team provides customized hedge fund solutions and advice to BlackRock's clients.
  • With over USD 150 billion under management, HFS provides hedge fund solutions to investors through institutions, asset management platforms and intermediary channels.

Tasks

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically in the workplace and navigate complex situations, with a strong desire to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Experience working with HFS portfolio management teams in the execution of investment policy compliance monitoring, cash management, trade execution, settlement, performance compliance, hedge accounting and more.
  • Passion for financial markets and desire to participate in solving operational problems (e.g. trade execution, settlement, compliance, hedge accounting) and more.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key BlackRock partner teams (e.g. trading, technology) and across investment management teams.
  • Willingness to assist with project management related to the structural and technical aspects of portfolio construction and ongoing product management.
  • Ability to assist in defining trading and funding information for new and existing strategies, interface with investment teams and hedge fund managers.

  • Drive process awareness and some accountability around trade execution and market risk.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to coordinate across functions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in an investment or control role, preferably within the asset management or investment banking industry.
  • Familiarity with Aladdin.
  • Proof of flexibility and high adaptability; global environment.
