Associate Portfolio Manager

The Associate Portfolio Manager at Man Group supports the Systematic Fixed Income team in implementing investment strategies and performs tasks related to research, investment, and technology. The role involves validating model inputs and outputs, monitoring portfolio risks, and analyzing portfolio returns.

Tasks

The position of Associate Portfolio Manager involves a wide range of research, investment, and technical tasks within the systematic fixed-income team (credit and rates). The successful candidate will implement Man Group’s investment strategies, including validating inputs for our models and outputs from portfolio strategies that combine a range of factors to create solutions. Responsibilities include:
  • Work with portfolio managers to validate the inputs and outputs of our investment signals and assist with the day-to-day management of the portfolio
  • Analysis of the output of our portfolio construction process to ensure the integrity of our investment philosophy
  • Supporting the research and portfolio management teams in improving existing signals and creating new ones
  • Working with large datasets and tools for analyzing data quality issues
  • Development of tools for evaluating portfolio support and performance
  • Conducting analyses to improve strategy and customer communication

Requirements

The requirements for this position are:
  • At least a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, or accounting
  • Previous experience with coding in Python, Matlab, or R is required.
  • Previous graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative analysis is preferred
  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial analysis
  • Strong programming and statistical analysis skills
  • Strong work ethic and flexible working hours
  • Accuracy, good communication skills, and a cooperative personality
