Associate Portfolio Manager

Tasks

• Work with the portfolio management team to implement Numeric's equity strategies and develop new strategies
• Daily interaction with the portfolio analysts in the group on portfolio revaluation issues
• Make all long/short decisions in the investment process
• Collaborate with the research team to develop new ideas and trades
• Provide insightful analysis and commentary to understand and communicate trades discussed to clients/prospects
• Monitor market environment and strategy performance with clients/prospects

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in quantitative equity portfolio management and research
• A degree (Ph.D./MSc) in a quantitative discipline or an MBA with a finance specialization is strongly recommended
• Ability to implement and develop quantitative models and conduct quantitative/statistical research in the areas of data science and risk
• Willingness to learn programming languages (R/Python or other statistical computing packages)
• Extensive experience in analyzing accounting and financial reports
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with sophisticated institutional investors and advisors
• Ability to build on existing business and create new business
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented
• Strong sense of integrity and work ethic
