Job description

Tasks

  • Maintain and upgrade the ER/Studio environment, ensuring compatibility with database systems and tools.
  • Monitor system performance and address any bottlenecks or downtime.

Configuration and customization

  • Configure ER/Studio repository and user roles to meet organizational requirements.
  • Customize templates, metadata, and data dictionaries within ER/Studio.
  • Create and maintain mapping standards and business glossaries.

Development and integration

  • Design and implement logical and physical data models using ER/Studio.
  • Integrate ER/Studio with other data tools, such as Collibra, Snowflake, or SQL-based platforms.

Cooperation and documentation

  • Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and development teams to gather requirements.
  • Document all system changes, configurations, and data models.
  • Train and support end-users in utilizing ER/Studio features effectively.

Requirements

Technical skills

  • Experience with ER/Studio
    • Hands-on experience with ER/Studio Enterprise Team Edition or equivalent.
    • Proficiency in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) using ER/Studio.
    • Knowledge of repository management and collaboration features in ER/Studio.
  • Database Knowledge
    • Strong understanding of RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake)
    • Familiarity with SQL scripting for queries and optimization.
  • Metadata management
    • Experience managing metadata, data dictionaries, and glossaries within ER/Studio.
    • Ability to map metadata between ER/Studio and external systems or tools.
  • Integration and Scripting
    • Knowledge of integrating ER/Studio with BI tools, data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra), or ETL tools.
    • Familiarity with APIs and scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation.
  • Version Control & Repository Management
    • Experience managing version control and branching for data models in ER/Studio.
    • Understanding of team collaboration and repository synchronization.
  • Soft skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
