Associate / Vice President, Sustainable Solutions Group
ING is seeking an Associate or Vice President for its Sustainable Solutions Group in Brussels to support clients in implementing sustainable financial strategies and ESG criteria. The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree, has experience in sustainable finance, and possesses a strong commercial mindset.
Job Description
- Assessing external "green," "social," "sustainable," or "transition" criteria, including ESG ratings and relevant regulatory developments (e.g., the EU Taxonomy), and applying these to ING's proposed sustainable solutions.
- Helping clients achieve their sustainability goals while optimizing balance sheet efficiency, capital allocation, funding, sustainability advisory services, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintaining data quality, including populating internal databases and keeping track of market developments.

Requirements
- Client-focused: Client engagement is the top priority in this role, along with a strong commercial mindset. Maintain strong relationships with colleagues in the financial markets.
- Sustainability/Social Background: A solid understanding of sustainability-related finance (bond lending, leasing, acquisitions, mortgages, and sustainability-related strategies or regulations).
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to rapidly changing environments and trends.
- A strong network with external stakeholders regarding sustainable development.
- A master's degree in business, finance, or other relevant fields.
- Professional experience with ESG/sustainability-related content (banking, advisory, consulting, etc.).
- Experience with sustainability-related content is a plus.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
