Automation Lead
The Automation Lead is expected to lead test automation design, development and innovation initiatives for core banking and satellite applications and manage a team of test automation experts, SDETs and load and performance test engineers. The candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of test automation frameworks and solutions.
Job description: Automation Lead
Tasks
- Design of test automation frameworks and solutions for cloud and on-prem platforms, including UI, API automation, service virtualization, CICD and test tool integration (JIRA, XRAY)
- Lead and manage test automation teams to ensure automation initiatives and deliveries align with business and technical objectives
- Collaborate with project stakeholders in Core Banking and Satellite Applications to gather automation and non-functional test requirements and define goals and solutions for the automation teams
- Drive automation teams to follow the latest tech stacks and industry best practices
- Maintain automation and performance test repositories to ensure seamless test execution and reporting integrated with deployment pipelines
- Foster a culture and desire for innovation and continuous improvement in the areas of test automation and performance testing
- Reviewing and tracking artifacts produced by automation teams
- Definition of test strategies, automation approaches, environments and automation applications for large and small projects
- Collaborate with various project, business and operations teams to achieve goals
- Status reporting and ability to proactively identify problems, risks and recommend optimal solutions
Client/stakeholder management (internal & external)
- Stakeholder management - working closely with senior stakeholders within IT and business to drive test automation delivery, best practice, innovation and automation
- Work with IT risk management to actively drive a risk culture within and across teams
- Ensuring awareness, involvement and support from key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on project status throughout its lifecycle
Regulatory responsibilities and/or risk management
- Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to standards of honesty and integrity, care and diligence, fair treatment (fair treatment of clients), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Taking responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and closely managed, and driving all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards
Requirements
Professional and technical
Professional
- At least 12-15+ years of experience in driving test automation strategies and technology solutions
- Experience in private banking, including Teneos T24 Core Banking, preferred
- Experience and ability to provide technical solutions and adapt to the latest tech stacks and innovations
- Expertise in working with agile methods such as Scrum / Kanban / SAFE
- Experience in automation and control of automation strategies (Selenium, Playwright, STEP and other industry standard tools)
Technical
Must Have:
- Good understanding of Linux
- Good understanding of software engineering best practices, clean code guidelines, branching strategies, release processes, versioning, etc.
- Good understanding of streaming platform tests such as Confluent Kafka/IBM MQ etc.
- Experience in load and performance testing with JMeter, K6, Playwright
- Exposure to core banking solutions (T24 preferred)
