Automation Lead

The Automation Lead at Julius Baer will be responsible for managing test automation for core banking and satellite applications and leading a team of test automation specialists, SDETs, and performance engineers. The candidate should have experience in developing test automation frameworks and solutions as well as in leading teams.

Tasks

  • Lead test automation design, development, and innovation initiatives for core banking and satellite applications
  • Responsibility for the design and implementation of test automation frameworks and solutions
  • Leading a team of test automation, SDET, and performance engineers
  • Work with project stakeholders to gather requirements for automation and non-functional testing, and define goals and solutions for the automation teams.
  • Promoting a culture and desire for innovation and continuous improvement in the areas of test automation and performance testing.
  • Review and tracking of artifacts produced by automation teams
  • Definition of the test strategy, automation approach, environment and test data management plans for applications
  • Collaborate with various project, business and operations teams to achieve goals
  • Status reporting and ability to proactively identify problems, risks, and optimal solutions

Client and stakeholder management

  • Stakeholder management – working closely with senior stakeholders within IT and business to drive test automation delivery, best practices, innovation, and automation
  • Collaborating with IT risks to promote risk culture within and between teams
  • Ensuring that key stakeholders and participants are informed, involved, and supported by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication about project status throughout its lifecycle.

Regulatory responsibilities and risk management

  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviors, including, but not limited to, standards of honesty and integrity, diligence and prudence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), conflict management, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Taking responsibility for identifying and managing risks and issues, and encouraging all stakeholders to deliver high-quality results on time

Requirements

  • At least 12-15 years of experience in developing test automation strategies and technical solutions
  • Experience in private banking, including Telenos T24 Core Banking (desirable)
  • Ability to provide technical solutions and adapt to the latest technologies and innovations
  • Expertise in working with agile methods such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFE
  • Experience in automation and the development of automation strategies (Selenium, Playwright, STEP, and other industry-standard tools)

Technical requirements

  • Good understanding of Linux
  • Good understanding of software engineering best practices, clean code guidelines, branching strategies, release processes, versioning, etc.
  • Good understanding of streaming platforms such as Confluent Kafka or IBM MQ
  • Experience in load and performance testing with JMeter
