AV Operations Lead
Northern Trust is looking for an AV Operations Lead in New York who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and support of audiovisual solutions, as well as providing technical support for events. This full-time position requires at least three years of experience with AV systems and offers a salary between $75,000 and $125,000.
About the role
- As an AV Operations Lead at Northern Trust, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, support, and maintenance of audiovisual (AV) systems and event technologies used across the firm's offices, production studios, and production facilities.
- This role will serve as the primary point of contact for AV services, ensuring that meeting rooms and event spaces are routinely maintained, calibrated, and equipped with state-of-the-art technology suitable for partners and stakeholders. The successful candidate is recognized annually for their ability to stay current with emerging AV technologies, troubleshoot problems, and maintain a high standard of audio, video, and system performance.
- In addition to supporting daily operations, the individual will work closely with our events team to coordinate audiovisual setup, including technical operations for client-facing and internal meetings, conferences, and presentations, as well as external presentations and complex event spaces.
- This role requires strong technical skills, event service skills, and an understanding of what makes for a successful customer experience, along with the ability to remain calm and handle high-stakes situations effectively.
- This is a full-time position requiring 30+ hours per week, with occasional support outside normal hours as needed for urgent event or simulation cancellations.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Technology Support
- Lead front-line operations and support the meeting room experience, service levels, and events
- Ensure that audio, video, and conferencing systems are routinely maintained, calibrated, and equipped with state-of-the-art technology suitable for partners and stakeholders
- Support for audiovisual setup and technical operations for client-facing and internal meetings, conferences, and presentations, as well as external presentations and complex event venues
- Maintain an effective AV system calibration quality checklist to ensure optimal room performance
- Manage scheduling and complex setups while empowering partners and stakeholders in high-stakes situations
AV Operations & Support
- Work across functions with the technology delivery partner, the event team, and business stakeholders to provide a productive experience for partners and stakeholders
- Provide front-line AV support for the firm's event and simulation booking systems
- Continuously improve and contribute to the design and development of new technology solutions
- Regularly review and update the firm's AV hardware requirements, software, and related resources.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the AV experience across the firm
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience supporting audiovisual systems, conferencing technology, or a similar technology-oriented role
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, presentation technologies, microphones, screens, and system monitoring, configuration, calibration, and maintenance
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms and/or Blackbaud production solution platforms
- A proven track record and problem-solving ability to help partners achieve their performance goals in high-stakes situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as adaptability and management skills
- Experience working across complex organizations, involving various business teams, leaders, and business stakeholders
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with the firm's meeting systems
- Flexible and adaptable to changing AV equipment requirements throughout the firm
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed for business purposes
- A passion for supporting customer success through timely, effective, and high-quality events while thriving in fast-paced tech environments

Salary Range
- $75,000 – $125,000 USD
