Azure Infrastructure Engineer

Northern Trust is seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure cloud solutions on the Azure platform. The position requires at least three years of experience in cloud engineering, relevant Azure certifications, and knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting languages.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, specifically Azure.
  • Azure Certification(s): AZ-104, AZ-204, and/or AZ-305.
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft's cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, security, DevOps, monitoring, analytics, and data management services.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and/or Bash.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, and/or Bicep.
  • Knowledge of security practices, including identity management, network security, encryption, and compliance.
  • Experience with Azure resource management, resource groups, and Azure Migrations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based solutions on Azure.
  • Collaborate with development teams to set up CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient deployment and management of resources.
  • Perform cloud monitoring and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
  • Implement security policies, identity management, and access controls.
  • Develop and manage IaC templates to ensure consistent infrastructure deployments.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for Azure infrastructure and services, including policies, procedures, and best practices.
