Backend Engineer (Java/Spring Boot) Full-Time (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking a Backend Engineer (Java/SpringBoot) for a full-time position in Madrid, where the candidate will work as part of a team to develop and implement software solutions. The ideal candidate has experience in software engineering, an open and pragmatic attitude, and knowledge of Java, SpringBoot, and DevOps concepts.
Tasks
- Understanding business requirements by collaborating with colleagues from different departments
- Participate in planning and feature refinement meetings with the team
- Work with solution architects to design software solutions that align with the overall vision of Julius Baer's architecture
- Active participation in software engineering communities to share knowledge and help others
- Delivery of high-quality code that complies with Julius Baer’s guidelines and standards
Your profile
- You have a "can-do" attitude, are pragmatic, and are open to new ideas
- Entrepreneurial mindset—we welcome your ideas
- Proven experience in software development using industry standards such as test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD)
- Understanding of DevOps concepts such as CI/CD and the importance and value of automated testing
- Designing, Deploying, and Managing Applications with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and Related Technologies
- Managing containerized applications in a cloud-native environment (Azure, etc.)
- Willingness to learn new ways of working and to support Julius Baer in its transformation
- They take pride in their work and strive to set a good example
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or demonstrable relevant professional experience
- Very good English
