Backend Engineer (Java/Spring Boot) with solid Oracle DB 19+ experience (100%) (f/m/d)
As a Backend Engineer (Java/SpringBoot) specializing in Oracle DB 19+, you will develop and maintain software modules for Julius Baer’s Order Management Division in Madrid. The role requires in-depth technical expertise in Java, SQL, and financial protocols, as well as knowledge of the wealth management environment.
Tasks
- Responsible for the design, development, and testing of software modules to ensure optimal functionality and integration into complex systems.
- The role requires a combination of in-depth technical expertise and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Contributed to the development of the strategy for Julius Baer's Order Management Division in a highly collaborative environment.
- Support with the ongoing technical maintenance of our system and proactive identification of areas for improvement and opportunities for development.
Requirements
- Understanding of order management systems with capabilities such as IBM OTMSettlement, routing, and capture.
- Extensive experience in Oracle SQL/SQL 19+ development and performance tuning.
- Skills in Linux environments and Bash scripting for automation and operational efficiency.
- Expertise in Java, .NET, or comparable software development technologies (preferably using Spring Boot and C#) is essential for understanding the development context, right down to its inner workings and capabilities.
- A solid understanding of messaging protocols and routing in the financial services sector (e.g., FIX, SWIFT).
- Familiarity with financial messaging standards such as FIX and ISO 20022 (particularly in the securities sector) is crucial and is often required for many roles within companies.
- Proficiency in RESTful Web APIs and data formats, including XML and JSON.
- Knowledge of security mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, TLS, and RBAC, as well as experience in system architecture, the identification of non-functional requirements, and integration testing.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, OctopusDeploy). Experience with Kubernetes is a plus, as is experience with observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Knowledge of securities trading and related processes, particularly in a wealth management environment.
- A comprehensive understanding of financial instruments, including stocks, fixed-income securities, new issues, mutual funds, and ETFs.
- Some practical experience with using Bloomberg data (master data and price data).
