Your tasks

• In this role, you will apply your knowledge of accounting and corporate finance in multinational companies, financial reporting, and official statistics, and work closely with the directors of economics (country/industry managers) and department staff to ensure the quality of Switzerland’s foreign trade statistics.
• Compilation, responsibility for business units and tasks, project work, and ad hoc analyses.

Data Analysis and Case Management

• Reviewing, verifying the plausibility of, and analyzing the financial and other information reported by multinational companies.
• Analyzing complex business transactions and developing statistical posting logic.
• Ensuring data quality and performing consistency checks with other data sources.
• Advising companies on the statistical representation of complex business cases.
• Supporting companies in improving data quality in SNB reporting.
• Build and maintain trusting relationships with corporate contacts, including regular visits to their companies.

Consulting and Collaboration with Companies

• Collaborate on the further development of surveys, processes, and tools, as well as on customized analyses of the balance sheets and income statements of multinational companies.
• Addressing conceptual issues at the intersection of financial accounting, international financial reporting standards (IFRS / US-GAAP), and statistics.

Your profile

• Master's degree in business administration or equivalent education.
• Several years of professional experience or additional qualifications in accounting, controlling, and corporate finance.
• Knowledge of international accounting standards as well as industry-specific expertise (e.g., energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, commodities trading, or finance and insurance).
• An analytical mindset and a passion for getting to the bottom of complex economic issues.
• Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with companies and subject matter experts.
• Enjoyment of direct contact with companies and enjoyment of solution-oriented collaboration.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications.
• Excellent command of English and French; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
