Business Analyst / Developer

Tasks

• Serve as the primary point of contact for business users regarding application workflows, incidents, service requests, and enhancements
• Identifying users' business and regulatory requirements and translating them into IT solutions, including mockups, demos, and workshops to validate user acceptance
• Conducting system analysis, design, and development; planning and managing application and technology projects through to go-live (including feasibility studies and user acceptance testing)
• Development and collaboration with third-party manufacturers to ensure seamless application development

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in business analysis, application development, and/or software engineering, preferably in banking, the financial sector, or asset management
• Proven experience working with quantitative and risk teams
• In-depth knowledge of financial markets and products (e.g., derivatives, options, cash and margin lending, FX products, equity derivatives, interest rate derivatives)
• Experience with software development languages such as Java, C++, C#, or Python
• Strong skills in database design and development. Ability to write and debug complex MS T-SQL stored procedures, user-defined functions, triggers, and views, as well as implement performance tuning in SQL
• Proven track record in the design, development, and deployment of production systems
• Experience in developing distributed ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, Airflow, or similar tools
• HTIP Standards, Status Codes, and Messaging Communication Patterns
• Strong aptitude for using agentic AI engineering to develop software or AI agents
• Experience with a technology stack that can be used to develop a web-based GUI is a plus
• Understanding CI/CD platforms, tools, and processes
• Proven ability to produce rigorous, clear, and complete documentation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and an eye for detail
• Flexible and able to provide support during product launches and marketing events
• Effective Communication and Collaboration Skills
• Expertise in at least one of the following areas is required:
  • FinIQ
  • Aladdin (Blackrock)
  • T24 (Temenos)
  • Banking regulations in Singapore or Hong Kong, particularly with regard to the MAS or the HKMA
  • Software development for credit risk engines (e.g., Lmebank, Manhattan, or an internal API)
  • Development of trading software for complex financial products (options, FX swaps, AQIQO Tafe, or UBS QIC)
  • Experience with software integration into platforms such as ULLINK or similar systems
