Business Analyst Legal & Compliance

The Legal & Compliance Business Analyst supports the global transformation of legal and compliance functions at EFG International, a global private banking firm, and is responsible for analyzing business challenges, improving data consistency and reporting capabilities, and coordinating system enhancements. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as experience in the banking industry, ideally in compliance, risk, audit, or transformation.

Job description

As part of the Global Legal & Compliance Transformation Team within the Global COO Legal & Compliance unit, this role focuses on assessing business challenges and relevant solutions, improving data consistency and reporting capabilities across various jurisdictions, with a particular focus on SAS AML, GTExchange, Ficco Continuity, and Pythagoras.

Main tasks

The main tasks include:
  • Global Business & Functional Analysis: Overseeing the collection and documentation of global requirements for system and process changes in the Compliance & Legal department.
  • Support in identifying, evaluating, and developing business specifications for systems and processes that are cost-effective and meet requirements.
  • Serves as a liaison between global and local teams to ensure alignment across business units and jurisdictions.
  • Development of end-to-end processes and identification of regional variations for harmonization.

System Monitoring and Operational Support

System monitoring and operational support include:
  • Serving as the liaison between the Legal & Compliance and COO functions and coordinating improvements, upgrades, and bug fixes across SAS AML, GT Exchange, Ficco Continuity, and Pythagoras.
  • Support for global change initiatives, including tool implementation, data quality initiatives, and regulatory adjustments.
  • Support for UAT processes, system documentation, and global rollout coordination.

Governance

Governance includes:
  • Contribute to governance forums by providing consistent, comprehensive reports and status updates.

Requirements

The requirements include:
  • A solid understanding of compliance environments and internal control frameworks in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Autonomy, reliability, and a strong work ethic; able to deliver results in fast-paced and high-stakes environments.
  • A global mindset with excellent cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience with project governance tools and data visualization (e.g., JIRA, SharePoint, Power BI, Excel dashboards).
  • Technical knowledge of compliance tool functionalities, system workflows, and data flows.
  • A bachelor's degree in law, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the banking industry in compliance, risk, audit, or transformation roles, ideally within banking groups or international financial institutions.
