Business Analyst

The Business Analyst position at Charles River Development will focus on optimizing the client experience and product features in the SWIFT space. The candidate will participate in the product development process and act as a liaison between clients, development team and external product teams.

About the job

The Charles River Development Middle Office team is seeking a Business Analyst to work with clients and development to create solutions that enhance the client experience, product feature and strategic position of the CIO Investment Management System.

Tasks

  • Applying detailed knowledge and understanding of SWIFT usage within the end-to-end investment lifecycle to product development
  • Creation of business and technical requirements documents based on product roadmaps, competitive analysis and understanding of market and regulatory trends
  • Work directly with customers and development to translate product specifications
  • Partner with Engineering and QA to develop, implement and refine features
  • Planning and scheduling validation tasks; performing manual tests; developing validation plans and processes
  • Ensuring accurate and complete documentation for product features and workflows
  • Support in the management of project schemes and deliveries
  • Support in the implementation and resolution of critical customer problems
  • Participation in test requirements and exercises as required
  • Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum methodology, including daily Scrum meetings and adherence to SDLC guidelines

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the software development lifecycle, particularly in agile development methodologies and familiarity with tools such as Jira
  • Strong business and technical understanding of SWIFT message analysis and processing; communication and working knowledge of SWIFT gateways is preferred
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical product specification documents
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills
  • Advanced writing skills, including the ability to stream/communicate highly detailed information
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to reconcile conflicting data
  • Strong technical background, including familiarity with SQL
  • Proven planning and scheduling skills
  • Knowledge of one or more CRD functional areas and State Street Alpha is highly desirable. Controlling and investment management and training. Experience in the financial services industry is preferred. Education: BS degree in finance, economics, math or study of systems with a MS background. MS/MBA or CFA is preferred.
