Business Analyst/Developer
EFG International is seeking a Business Analyst/Developer for a temporary contract opportunity in Lugano, Switzerland, to provide support and solutions for internal and external systems in the Investment Client Solution (ICS) area. The successful candidate will need a combination of analytical, technical, and communication skills to fulfill the requirements of the role.
Job description
Our team delivers solutions and provides support for internal and external systems within the Investment Client Solution (ICS) business. Support, business analysis, testing, and development are provided for all ICS business areas, including ICS Business, Advisory, Discretionary, and New Capital Funds. The primary focus of this role is on support and business analysis. The role interacts with a wide range of end users from all aspects of the business (e.g., Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk and Compliance, and IT).Tasks and responsibilities
- Daily support for the various application systems.
- Documenting new system improvements, implementing and testing improvements, and training users.
- Communication with existing users, technical analysts, and relevant application providers.
- Configuration, rollout, testing, and application support for Charles River / Aladdin and related applications.
- Defining and testing necessary solutions to improve the existing features and functionalities of the IT solutions.
- Gain expertise in the use and configuration of Charles River / Aladdin applications.
- Ongoing work on defining changes and implementing the necessary changes in the systems.
- Escalate issues in a timely manner to all necessary parties.
- Work based on agreed-upon priorities (and ensuring that priorities are understood if there is any confusion).
- Conducting and documenting gap analyses of required changes in collaboration with vendors and business users.
- Preparation, coordination, and documentation of detailed process flows, test plans, test execution reports, and other project documentation.
Requirements and qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., engineering, economics, mathematics, etc.).
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills / Ability to think quickly.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for tasks.
- Goal-oriented.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Software experience: Microsoft SQL, Excel macros, Visual Basic.
- Knowledge of Charles River and/or BlackRock Aladdin (preferred).
- English (French/German/Italian would be a plus).
- Effective interpersonal skills in negotiations and influencing others.
- Must be able to travel occasionally (IT requirements).
- Previous experience in the financial sector would be an advantage.
