Business and Operations Manager – Legal Assets

SYZ Capital is seeking a Business and Operations Manager for its Legal Assets team to support and scale the platform, including coordinating investments, fund operations, and investor communications. The candidate should have experience in alternative investments, legal or financial transactions, and possess strong analytical skills.

Tasks

The tasks include:
  • Investment & Transaction Execution: Coordinating the onboarding and execution of litigation finance investments, assisting with the structuring of investments, managing cash flow distributions, financing plans, and cash flow tracking
  • Fund Operations & Administration: Overseeing the operational aspects of legal asset funds and mandates, including capital account management and administration
  • Portfolio Monitoring & Data Management: Development and maintenance of case-tracking systems, aggregation of portfolio performance metrics, and support for process evaluation
  • Investor Reporting & Communications: Support in the preparation of quarterly reports, performance metrics, and attribution, as well as in the maintenance of master data and documentation
  • Legal & Structuring Coordination: Close collaboration with the investment team and external legal counsel in the preparation of fund documentation and investment agreements
  • Process Building & Platform Thinking: Design and implementation of scalable operational processes, improvement of existing tools, and establishment of best practices
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight: Monitoring operational risks and preparing executive documentation

Requirements

The requirements include:
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in alternative investment operations, legal/financial transactions, or financial management, with experience in complex structures
  • Strong understanding of fund structures and capital mechanisms
  • Accounting skills: Fund accounting, NAV processes, capital accounts
  • Investment Management: Investment Execution, Waterfall Structures, Reconciliations, PPF, LBOs
  • Advanced Excel skills (data structuring, modeling)
  • Flexibility in legal documentation and digitized processes is a major advantage
