BUSINESS CONTROLS SPECIALIST
Leonteq AG is seeking a motivated Business Controls Specialist to perform daily and periodic monitoring checks and to be responsible for implementing controls and risk management. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in compliance, process management, or operational risk management.
About the position
We are looking for a motivated Business Controls Specialist who is eager to learn and take on responsibility.Tasks
- Conduct daily and periodic monitoring checks as part of the first line of defense, including reviewing and investigating alerts
- Work with Sales and other stakeholders to resolve alerts or transactions
- Implement appropriate corrective measures for individual cases in accordance with established procedures to ensure a timely and accurate resolution
- Support the implementation and testing of new or improved controls, including the preparation of control procedures, the conduct of pilot tests, and the documentation of control steps
- Maintain detailed records of audit procedures and corrective actions to support tracking, reporting, and documentation requirements
- Focus on conducting case-level reviews to assist management with trend analysis and framework improvements
- Escalate issues that indicate recurring patterns or increased risks to the Head of Business Controls
- Support the Head of Business Controls in preparing materials and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders such as Risk and Compliance, and serve as a substitute when necessary
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of professional experience in the financial services industry; preferably in compliance, process management, operational risk management, or internal audit
- Basic knowledge of the structured products market
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and operational control concepts
- Fluent in English and German
- Strong analytical and investigative problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business partners to solve problems and improve risk management practices
- Project management, organizational, and reporting skills
- Willingness to develop expertise in governance, risk, and control (GRC) systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach to identifying problems and supporting process improvements
- Experience in preparing or delivering presentations to senior stakeholders
- Experience the momentum of a leading fintech company
- Learn about the world of structured products
- Gain insight into all departments to acquire expertise regarding the mechanics of the structured investment product value chain
