Business Controls Specialist
Leonteq AG is seeking a motivated Business Controls Specialist to perform daily and periodic monitoring checks and to be responsible for implementing controls and resolving issues. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in compliance, process management, or operational risk management.
Tasks
- Perform daily and periodic monitoring checks as part of the first line of defense, including the review and investigation of alerts
- Liaise with Sales and other stakeholders to clarify alerts or transactions
- Implement appropriate corrective actions for individual cases in accordance with established procedures, ensuring timely and accurate resolution
- Support the implementation and testing of new or enhanced controls, including the preparation of control procedures, the execution of pilot tests, and the documentation of control steps
- Maintain accurate records of control implementation and corrective actions to support tracking, reporting, and documentation requirements
- Focus on the execution of case-level controls, supporting the Head in trend analysis and framework improvements
- Escalate issues that indicate recurring patterns or higher risks to the Head of Business Controls
- Provide support to the Head of Business Controls in preparing materials and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders, such as Risk and Compliance, and serve as a backup when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of professional experience in the financial services industry; preferably in compliance, process management, or operational risk management/internal audit
- Basic knowledge of the structured products market
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and operational control concepts
- Fluent in English and German
