BUSINESS CONTROLS SPECIALIST

Position description

Business Controls Specialist in Zurich, Risk Management, Full-time

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Business Controls Specialist who is eager to learn and take on responsibility.

Tasks

• Conduct daily and periodic monitoring checks as part of the first line of defense, including reviewing and investigating alerts
• Work with Sales and other stakeholders to resolve alerts or transactions
• Implement appropriate corrective actions for individual cases in accordance with established procedures to ensure a timely and accurate resolution
• Support the implementation and testing of new or improved controls, including the preparation of control procedures, the conduct of pilot tests, and the documentation of control steps
• Maintain detailed records of audit procedures and corrective actions to support tracking, reporting, and documentation requirements
• Focus on conducting case-level reviews to support trend analysis and framework improvement
• Escalate issues that indicate recurring patterns or increased risks to the head of Business Controls
• Assist in preparing materials and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders, such as risk and compliance departments, and serve as a substitute when necessary

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field
• 3–5 years of professional experience in the financial services industry; preferably in compliance, process management, operational risk management, or internal audit
• Basic knowledge of the structured products market
• Familiarity with risk management frameworks and operational control concepts
• Fluent in English and German
