Business Manager, Front Office

The Business Manager Front at J. Safra Sarasin in Basel or Zurich is responsible for providing day-to-day operational support to the front-office departments and serves as a subject matter expert for banking systems and processes. The role requires analytical skills, IT proficiency, and fluency in German and English to ensure increased efficiency and smooth operations.

Your Role

As Business Manager Front at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you are responsible for providing day-to-day support to the Bank’s front-office units, including the Private Banking, Institutional Banking, and External Asset Manager departments in Switzerland and at our international locations. You will provide expert knowledge on various tools, systems, and processes and work closely with front-office-related functions and specialists across the Bank.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide fast and reliable day-to-day support for front-end-related questions, acting
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert and the first point of contact for questions related to the front end
  • Provide expert support for key banking systems, including the Bank’s client onboarding and core banking systems, and assist front-line employees in using them effectively
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency across front-line units, including the optimization of processes, tools, and ways of working, and contribute to relevant change initiatives
  • Support dedicated systems and process frameworks, such as those used by financial intermediaries and business introducers, including interfaces for data and document transfer as well as payment-related processes
  • Manage and coordinate mass mailings driven by regulatory and business requirements, working closely with business partners and end clients across the Group as needed

Your Profile

  • Higher education (university or university of applied sciences) in business administration, finance, or a related field, or a completed banking apprenticeship or similar (KV)
  • Basic knowledge of financial services is required; previous experience in a support role is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues, set priorities, and develop practical solutions while working effectively with various stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with the ability to work independently and a strong service-oriented mindset
  • A strong interest in IT and excellent Microsoft Office skills are required; knowledge of Avaloq is a plus
  • Fluency in English and German is required; French, Portuguese, Spanish, or Italian is a plus
