Business Manager (Veteran Transition Program)
The Business Manager supports business development and strategic planning and works closely with the company to understand its needs and develop solutions. The role also involves managing the research pipeline, conducting commercial negotiations, and assisting with business and financial planning.
Job Profile Summary
The Business Manager will provide support for business development and strategic planning and will work closely with the company to understand its needs and propose solutions. He will manage the company’s research process and the associated commercial negotiations.Responsibilities
- Translate the company’s strategic goals into defined project plans - Hold regular meetings with research, technology, and other team leaders and stakeholders to assess project status and ensure on-time delivery - Prepare monthly reports on project status to facilitate prioritization discussions and identify and escalate issues as needed - Collaborate with team leaders to guide project prioritization - Support business and financial planningResearch Services
- Relationship management: Managing third-party research services in the UK, the US, and Hong Kong. Serving as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders - Drafting new agreements and incorporating existing ones - Negotiating fees and/or terms of agreements - Negotiate costs in line with our annual budget and ensure we receive all or similar service overlaps - Streamline vendors and reduce costs where possible - Collaborate regularly with the Compliance, Commercial Management, and Legal departments - Code research invoices and approve them for the companyKey Skills & Experience
- Strong academic background with a degree from a leading university - Relevant professional experience - Strong communication and presentation skills - Experience working with senior management - Experience leading projects or work streams - Strong analytical skills - Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) - Strong work ethic; self-starter with the ability to multitaskInclusion, work-life balance, and benefits
