The Business Risk Manager supports the front office in risk-related tasks and is responsible for monitoring and managing risks throughout the entire customer lifecycle. The focus is on collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure consistent risk management and the highest quality standards.

Job description

Tasks

  • Supports the front office in risk-related tasks, such as conducting risk and control self-assessments, evaluating and handling operational risk incidents, and conducting ad hoc investigations of business risks and behavior.
  • Collaborates with the 2nd and 3rd lines of defense, front management, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach to risk management and the highest quality standards in the region
  • Prepares and presents regional and/or market-related risk reports in collaboration with second line of defense teams to ensure transparency and oversight through regional and/or market-related risk reporting meetings and to address regulatory and quality assurance concerns.
  • Promotes risk awareness and initiates training measures
  • Offers risk-related support and advice for regional and/or market-related projects
  • Monitors and supports the elimination of risks, incidents, and control issues to ensure timely and sustainable resolution of gaps identified by the second line of defense, internal/external audits, and regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinates with other business risk managers and interacts with various internal stakeholders (e.g., compliance, legal, etc.), depending on the issue
  • Leads and implements change initiatives to improve risk management processes and procedures to ensure that the team is adaptable to changing regulatory and business requirements
  • Supports strategic decisions that align business objectives with risk management requirements, taking into account multiple perspectives and potential consequences
