Business Risk Manager
The Business Risk Manager supports the continuous development and improvement of a comprehensive risk management system for the Private Banking division and ensures that an effective control program is in place. He is also responsible for monitoring controls, conducting audits and preparing reports for the risk management team.

Main tasks and responsibilities
- With advanced business risk knowledge, you will support the continuous development and improvement of a comprehensive risk and control assessment for all aspects of risk within Private Banking, including the effective monitoring of the testing program (annual review of the PB Control Blueprint).
- Responsible for ensuring that a comprehensive risk-based control monitoring program is in place for the function that demonstrates the adequacy and effectiveness of key controls. Review to revise or develop (if necessary) existing processes and controls to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Performing more complex business controlling and monitoring tasks in various areas, focus on tasks/cases, e.g. investment security, cross-border transactions, fraud prevention, etc.
- Support the Head of Business Risk Management in preparing regular and ad-hoc reports for the Operation Risk Committee etc. on the status of control testing, observations, findings and proactive recommendations.
- Support and conduct thematic reviews, special investigations (if required) and reporting on analyses with observations, causes, consequence management (if required).
- Lead and manage projects (if required) across different departments and stakeholders to implement changes and improvements and be accountable for the results.
- Support the PB COO and Head of Business Risk Management in initiatives to promote risk awareness in the front office, e.g. designing training programs, supporting risk culture training, one-on-one coaching, etc.
- Work with internal stakeholders and 2LOD stakeholders (Operations Risk, Compliance, etc.) to identify, assess and mitigate risks in business operations and ensure appropriate controls are in place or remain relevant and effective.
- Responsible for proactively escalating, reporting, advising and challenging existing processes in relation to Private Banking business activities.
- Manage the FLOD risk score and ensure proper tracking, execution and integrity of the score. Manage the risk scorecard waiver/challenge process and obtain necessary approvals from relevant stakeholders and approvers.
- Support and advise front office staff on investment related/suitability activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and local regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships and credibility with key internal stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor junior team members and new hires, monitor or supervise BAU tasks (e.g. quality assurance, risk scorecard impact assessment, etc.).
- Support the PB COO and the Head of Business Risk Management in processing and responding to audit queries and observations.
- Assume other responsibilities within Business Risk Management or as directed by the PB COO and/or Head of Business Risk Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, finance, economics or related fields.
- 6-7 years or more experience in the finance or banking industry.
- Previous experience with general risk management, including control frameworks, is an advantage.
- Understanding of products and the regulatory banking environment in the wealth sector.
- Experience in communicating with internal business partners.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, multi-task and prioritize tasks.
