Business Risk Manager

The Business Risk Manager is responsible for monitoring and managing risks in the private banking sector and supports the preparation of reports and the implementation of controls. The position requires at least 2 years of experience in the banking or financial sector and a good knowledge of financial products and private banking.

Job Description

As part of the First Line of Defense (FLoD), Business Risk Management (BRM) ensures the effectiveness of the internal control system in the Private Banking division. Under the supervision of the P&B COO, BRM organizes and performs various tasks in the area of the department's daily support and monitoring activities. He/she coordinates P&B risk assessment in close consultation with Private Banking Support in order to achieve a robust FLoD. The BRM focuses on ex-post controls, supports the Global BRM in coordinating FLoD risk management activities, improves the quality of FLoD activities by ensuring that rules and processes are effectively adhered to, supports local CROs in performing their controls, and acts as an interface between the Business Head and the 2nd and 3rd LoD functions.

Tasks

  • Perform ex-post controls with a focus on internal processes and regulatory issues, in accordance with the P&B control plan.
  • Track and resolve operational alerts.
  • Perform additional/ad hoc checks if necessary.
  • Report on daily, monthly, and quarterly checks and the tracking of identified problems.
  • Report on the internal control environment and any potential risks or problems that may arise.
  • Support in creating CRO risk scorecards.
  • Additional/ad hoc reporting, if necessary.
  • Support in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of P&B control and risk management activities.
  • Support with P&B risk assessments in coordination with the second line of defense.
  • Participation in various front office, operational, and risk management projects, as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in economics or business administration.
  • At least 2 years of experience in banking, insurance, or financial services in customer/client services.
  • Good knowledge of financial products and ideally private banking.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
