We are looking for an experienced Business Risk Manager to join our Business Risk Management (BRM) team. The role is part of the First Line of Defense (FLoD) and is responsible for fostering a strong risk culture, ensuring robust risk and control frameworks, and supporting private banking business activities in Asia.Tasks
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk and control assessment for all aspects of risk within FLoD, including effective oversight of the testing program.
- Implementation of a risk-based control monitoring program across the function, with evidence of the adequacy and effectiveness of key controls.
- Regular business and compliance audits in areas such as investment suitability, cross-border activities, anti-fraud measures, etc., including management reporting and proactive recommendations.
- Conducting thematic reviews, studies, and gap analyses across FLoD activities.
- Participating in and/or leading projects and change initiatives aimed at implementing process and control improvements.
- Promoting a strong culture of risk awareness and fairness toward customers throughout the company.
- Work closely with the Second Line of Defense, Global Functions, and other internal stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks and ensure that appropriate controls are in place.
- Proactively escalating and reporting issues, providing advice, and challenging existing processes related to business operations.
- Management of the FLoD Risk Scorecard to ensure proper tracking, execution, and data integrity.
- Providing professional guidance to front-office staff in investment advisory activities to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and local regulatory requirements.
- Building strong relationships and credibility with key internal stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to junior team members and new employees and serve as a reviewer to ensure the quality and accuracy of reviews.
- Handling all other tasks related to business risk management, as assigned by the Head of Business Risk Management.
Requirements
- 5+ years of solid experience in business risk management in private banking/wealth management.
- Strong analytical skills, common sense, and a high degree of integrity and adherence to rules.
- Ability to work independently, challenge the status quo, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
