Business Systems Analyst
The Business Systems Analyst at JPMorgan Chase in Florida (hybrid) serves as a strategic liaison between business units and IT teams to translate requirements into technical specifications for core banking systems. The role requires at least three years of experience supporting core banking solutions, as well as in-depth knowledge of SQL Server, WebSphere, and the entire software development lifecycle.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Completing project assignments, including research, analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and system implementation.
- Timely delivery of assignments in compliance with operational, functional, and performance-related requirements.
- Engage with business users to gather, validate, and document business requirements through formal and informal meetings.
- Translation of business requirements into functional requirements, technical specifications, test plans, and training materials.
- Formulation and definition of the system scope and objectives, including procedures for solving complex business and technical problems, taking into account capacity and system constraints.
- Asking probing questions to fully understand business needs, scope, complexity, and effort estimates.
- Organizing and facilitating review meetings with business sponsors, stakeholders, IT development teams, suppliers, and partners.
- Support with project analysis, work planning, progress tracking, and adjusting commitments.
- Contribution to requirements documentation in accordance with the CIO methodology.
- Development and support of data-driven business processes, including design, implementation, termination, and follow-up actions.
- Executing test cases and documenting issues.
- Participate in system integration tests and support production operations.
- Identifying production errors reported by business stakeholders, assessing the root cause and proposed solutions, and ensuring that the issue is resolved.
- Support the change management and release process by documenting issues in a timely manner and communicating with all stakeholders.
- Ensuring product performance and quality through structured documentation of tests and requirements using structured documentation processes.
- Providing best-practice advice and guidance to stakeholders on software applications, data, and cybersecurity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and experience in related management, product, technology, and information disciplines, or equivalent experience, or proven experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in project implementation.
- At least 3 years of experience supporting core banking solutions, including third-party software packages.
- Experience with the implementation, support, and development of data warehouse platforms.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC practices.
- Proven application development methodologies.
- Experience writing unit and system tests.
- An understanding of complex object technologies and the ability to work independently in a highly dynamic environment.
- An understanding of what it takes to successfully fulfill obligations.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Portuguese is preferred.
Technical Skills and Experience
- Experience with SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Experience in application troubleshooting and production support for Windows Server, WebSphere Application Server, and WebSphere MQ.
- Knowledge of web application architectures, including HTTP servers, WebSphere Application Server, SQL database servers, ODBC, and TCP/IP.
- Experience in production support using batch scheduling tools and application monitoring solutions.
- Experience in maintaining data warehouse environments.
