C Engineer
The C Engineer position at Man Group offers the opportunity to work in a global asset management firm with a focus on technology and alternative investments. The role will involve developing and implementing software solutions, APIs and microservices as part of a collaborative team.
Overview
This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the largest asset managers. Technology is central to generating alpha. Our systems run on C++ and .NET. The software engineering teams are responsible for ensuring the integrity and resilience of our technology stack. We are looking for skilled engineers with a passion for technology to work within our software engineering team.
Main tasks
- Ownership of the end-to-end delivery process - from the definition of requirements to provision, testing and commissioning
- Participation in/ownership of the planning, design and delivery of major projects
- Participation in code reviews and knowledge sharing among colleagues
- New stakeholder interactions as an integral part of successful delivery
- Continuous improvement of production components such as refactoring technical debt, increasing release quality within the teams
- Promote and drive the adoption of best practices and improve business understanding and knowledge within the teams
- Support for infrastructure engineers and SRE teams
Requirements
Key qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in software development with C++ and .NET
- Query writing, schema design and performance tuning (focused on Microsoft SQL Server)
- Ability to balance business delivery and incremental delivery of new/architectural platform features
- Strong understanding of APIs and microservices
- Confident communicator who is able to navigate a fast-paced and conflictual environment
Useful experience
- Any working knowledge of Kafka, Mongo, React, Python
