CIS Specialist for Onboarding and Periodic Reviews, Compliance Officer

EFG International is seeking a CIS Specialist Onboarding & Periodic Reviews Compliance Officer who specializes in client due diligence and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in compliance roles and a good understanding of the CIS markets.

Job Description

You will join an international, dynamic, and highly qualified team of 20 colleagues based in Zurich, Geneva, or Lugano, with a wide range of backgrounds, languages, and experiences. We offer exciting opportunities to develop your compliance skills in a challenging and high-visibility role with extensive contact with the front office.

Main tasks

  • Client Onboarding: Conducting standard and advanced AML/TF due diligence reviews for client onboarding and Russian/CIS
  • Compliance Monitoring: Conducting enhanced AML/TF due diligence reviews for high-risk, special high-risk, and PEP cases, as well as complex cases and CIS analyses
  • Providing advice and support to the front office on all matters related to KYC/AML (including CIS)
  • Presentation of HRC/PEP/SHRC cases to the Client Acceptance Committee, including relevant risk assessments and concise compliance recommendations

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in compliance roles covering KYC, AML/CFT, transaction monitoring, and CTF/FATCA at Swiss private banks
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the CIS markets and solid experience are required
  • Acting independently and with integrity
  • An exceptional eye for detail, enabling the identification and correction of risks without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Strong communication skills, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • A collaborative approach and openness to suggestions from team members
  • Demonstrable knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines for compliance remediation programs
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to effectively handle unforeseen problems and tasks
  • Excellent communication skills in English are required. Russian and/or any CIS language are desirable but may be substituted with other languages. Mandarin, German, French, and/or Italian are a plus.
