Clark Portfolio Manager - Systematic

Man Group is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager for its Systematic Fixed Income division who is capable of managing portfolios, leading projects, and communicating with clients. The position requires analytical skills, experience in quantitative financial analysis, and programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or R.

Purpose of the role

  • This position is a leadership role within the Man Asia/Douglas Fixed Income Team at Man Group.
  • Man Group Systematic Fixed Income Management offers access to systematic or discretionary investment strategies.
  • Man Group has expertise in research, portfolio construction, and a focus on communicating with retail investors.
  • The individual is expected to work collaboratively with their asset management unit and internal stakeholders.
  • Man Group's global roles include marketing, legal and compliance, and the management of office and IT services.

Specific responsibilities

  • Support with asset allocation, client communication, strategies, and portfolios.
  • Assume primary responsibility for project management, including planning, scheduling, and project delivery.
  • Support for portfolio management tasks.
  • Contribute to infrastructure as a senior technical support specialist for clients and internal teams.
  • Support for established internal sales initiatives (including strategic sales and education leads).
  • Ensuring personal involvement in active and specialized investment portfolios, as well as providing personalized documentation to present these portfolios as investment opportunities to prospective investors.

Key Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with proven expertise in assets or commodities (commodity exchange), including but not limited to financial markets or stock exchanges; reporting, Pyram, etc.
  • Proficiency in additional communication skills.
  • Proven ability and experience working with developers and teammates to serve a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • A background in quantitative finance, mathematics, or statistics is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R). Where applicable, we are primarily familiar with Python and R.
  • Strong skills in data set analysis and analytical investment research methods are required.
  • An open-minded person with the ability to thrive in a diverse and fast-paced work environment.
