As a Client Onboarding Advisor on the Client Operations team, you will support the end-to-end onboarding of clients by assessing complex client structures, advising on documentation requirements, and ensuring compliance with global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards. You will work closely with front-office partners, clients, and internal stakeholders to deliver a timely, accurate, and high-quality onboarding experience.Tasks
- Serve as a subject matter expert throughout the onboarding process by assessing the complexity of the client’s needs and evaluating information requirements.
- Review and process complex client documentation, sources of wealth, and supporting information, and verify that all are in compliance with local AML/KYC regulations.
- Ensure that the documentation and information related to the client's KYC records are of high quality.
- Provide advisory services while maintaining strong relationships with bankers to ensure compliance, facilitate the onboarding process, and achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Represent the Client Operations team in client engagements, including leading or assisting with onboarding walkthroughs and explaining requirements in a clear, professional manner.
- Provide appropriate client support as needed, demonstrating flexibility to address urgent onboarding priorities across time zones in coordination with the team and stakeholders.
- Navigate complex situations, identify and mitigate risks related to the account opening process through proactive analysis and collaboration.
- Serve as the first line of defense to identify cases that require further review or escalation to the relevant committees and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher (in finance, business, or law)
- Client service, banking, or AML/KYC experience with a strong understanding of local AML, regulatory, and KYC requirements
- Experience in delivering results quickly in a high-pressure environment.
- Client-oriented approach and professionalism, including strong presentation skills and the ability to represent the firm to clients.
- Flexibility to adjust working hours as needed to accommodate client requirements and onboarding schedules—such as providing coverage across time zones—with proper planning and communication with stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of the various structures within the wealth management industry and the documentation associated with those structures.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail regarding data analysis and procedural requirements.
- A strong sense of ownership and responsibility, as well as the ability to work autonomously and independently within a structured framework.
- Fluency in English and one other language is required.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms. Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential.
Preferred qualifications
- Fluency in French, German, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Greek, or a Nordic language.
- Familiarity with automation tools and digital platforms.
