Tasks

  • Operational execution of activities related to KYC (new and renewal) for all clients through the performance and management of anti-money laundering laws to mitigate, analyze, approve and monitor various types of risks.
  • Review/analysis of KYCs and account opening documentation for new and existing clients.
  • Prepare KYC and documentation packages for submission to the KYC Committee for approval and deliver the complete package to the Account Services teams.
  • Support for strengthening the Bank Secrecy Act and the anti-money laundering program (KYC).
  • Screening of new and existing customers, OFAC, World Check, Google search, Credit Bureau or country-specific search tools (if applicable).
  • Conducting and completing BSA/AML-related investigations.
  • Communicate with front office staff on KYC program matters in an effective, efficient and timely manner.
  • Assist in obtaining documentation and information requested by internal, external and regulatory auditors.
  • Review of applicable account opening documentation for new accounts as well as documentation reviews for maintenance and changes to existing accounts (signatory update) and preparation of associated risk score with appropriate documentation to support the work performed (KYC).
  • Pre-approval/review of UBOs for trust structures, inclusion of PICs and RORAs for trust units.
  • Compliance with BSA/AML laws, rules, regulations and the Bank's BSA/AML policies and procedures (KYC).
  • Control, reporting and participation in projects such as migrations, internal risk committee, KYC renewal and expired documentation projects.
  • Collaboration with front office areas to obtain customer information or documentation.
  • Assisting with compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations and standard banking practices and controls.
  • Compliance with anti-money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act-related policies, laws, rules and regulations and Itau's related policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • At least 3 years of experience in risk & compliance;
  • AMLCA FIBA certification;
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML, federal and state banking regulations;
  • Banking knowledge;
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to achieving goals, problem solver, flexible and able to multi-task
  • Customer-oriented, team player
  • Comfortable working under deadlines and pressure
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Fluent in Portuguese and/or Spanish is desirable
