Job description
The Client Onboarding Officer is responsible for monitoring and approving the onboarding processes for new client relationships and accounts to ensure compliance with the bank's policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.Tasks
- Review and approval of onboarding processes for new customer relationships and accounts for various customer types
- Review and assessment of the adequacy of source of wealth statements and correspondence for new clients and existing clients opening new accounts
- Review and assessment of the risk posed by opaque legal structures
- Processing of hit reports for sanctions and other AML/CFT risks identified during the onboarding process
- Advising front office staff on KYC/CDD-related matters
- Advising senior management and local risk committees on AML/CFT risks associated with customer relationships
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in KYC onboarding or AML, preferably in the private banking industry
- Good understanding of the private banking and asset management industry
- Strong knowledge of the MAS 626 Notice & Guidelines
- Good organizational skills and strong communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and excellent knowledge of English; other languages are an advantage
