Cloud Data Manager

Job description

This role involves responsibility for the design, implementation, and operational management of secure, scalable cloud data solutions on Azure and Power BI. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the design, implementation, and operational management of secure, scalable cloud data solutions on Azure and Power BI
  • Architecture and optimization of data pipelines with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ingestion, transformation, and orchestration
  • Design and management of enterprise data platforms with Snowflake for data warehousing
  • Implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning workflows with Azure Databricks (including Delta Lake and Delta Melt and Mediation)
  • Integration of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric for business intelligence and self-service analytics
  • Ensuring best practices in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps for data engineering solutions
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs and deliverables
  • Creating and enforcing data governance, security, and compliance standards with Azure Purview and related tools
  • Mentoring and leading team members in Azure data engineering, Snowflake optimization, and Databricks
  • Communication of progress, risks, and technical decisions to business and technology stakeholders

Requirements

Minimum qualification:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks
  • Proven experience with Snowflake for data warehousing and performance optimization
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and Spark/PySpark
  • Experience integrating Power BI and Microsoft Fabric for enterprise analytics
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance

Nice-to-have skills

  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Certified Azure Data Engineer)
  • Experience with machine learning platforms and advanced analytics
  • Familiarity with agile methods and DevOps practices for data engineering
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team-building skills
