Collection Specialist

Arval Switzerland is seeking a Collections Specialist (80–100%) for its finance team in Rothrist, who will handle the collections process from start to finish and work with customers and partners to find fair solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of debt collection law and at least 5 years of experience in collections.

Tasks

- Handles the entire debt collection process from start to finish—from identifying customers at risk of default early on, to initiating appropriate measures, to pursuing legal action - Conducts discussions with customers and partners, seeks fair solutions, and finds sustainable ways to secure payment (developing payment proposals, negotiating installment plans, evaluating requests for debt restructuring and payment deferrals) - Works closely with our colleagues in Sales, Risk, and Accounting. You will often be the first point of contact for our internal departments or legal counsel - Manages the overview (or receivables lists), analyzes key metrics, and contributes to achieving our financial goals - Actively participates in projects to further develop and digitize our processes

Requirements

  • Has a good knowledge of debt collection law (SchKG) and at least 5 years of experience in debt collection
  • Ideally has knowledge of the leasing sector and is very numerate; communicates and negotiates in person in German, English, and/or French; Italian is a plus
  • Is self-taught in Excel
  • Possesses strong negotiation skills, assertiveness, and tact when dealing with debtors
  • You work independently and in an organized manner, and your work is characterized by precision
