Collection Specialist

Arval Switzerland is seeking a Collection/Debt Collection Specialist (80–100%) in Zurich-Roetzweg who will be responsible for debt collection and accounts receivable management and who has experience in debt collection and a strong understanding of debt enforcement law. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team and will handle a diverse range of tasks in a forward-looking work environment.

Tasks

You will handle the entire debt collection process from start to finish—from identifying customers in need of reminders early on, to taking appropriate action, all the way through to initiating legal proceedings. Your responsibilities include:
  • Handling the debt collection process
  • Conducting discussions with customers and partners to find fair solutions and establish sustainable payment arrangements (developing payment proposals, negotiating installment plans, and evaluating debt restructuring and payment deferrals)
  • Work closely with colleagues in Sales, Risk, and Accounting Services to resolve outstanding receivables or initiate legal proceedings
  • Overview of receivables, analysis of key performance indicators, and contribution to achieving our financial goals
  • Active participation in projects to further develop and digitize our processes

Requirements

You have:
  • Strong knowledge of debt collection law (SchKG) and at least 5 years of experience in debt collection
  • Knowledge of the leasing industry is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of German, English, and/or French; knowledge of Italian is a plus
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Diplomacy, assertiveness, and tact when dealing with debtors
  • An independent, structured, and meticulous approach to work
