Compensation & Tax Associate

The position as Compensation & Tax Associate at BlackRock in Belgrade involves processing compensation transactions, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with ad hoc projects. The position requires a CA/ACCA/CMA certification and at least three years of experience in accounting, ideally in the financial services sector.

Tasks

  • Maintenance and Support for the New Deal General Ledger
  • Reporting to Various Stakeholders
  • Assisting the Compensation Accounting Manager with ad hoc projects
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and subsequent certification of the balance sheet
  • Preparation and presentation of notes regarding adjustments to the income statement and balance sheet in the monthly financial statements
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Payroll, Human Resources, and other departments, including daily morning checks
  • Assisting the manager with project-related administrative tasks related to the implementation of new payroll systems and the new Oracle General Ledger
  • Performing other ad hoc tasks and monthly tasks as directed

Requirements

  • CA/ACCA/CMA Certification
  • At least 3 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Financial accounting experience, preferably in accordance with GAAP
  • Previous experience in the financial services sector, ideally at a large financial institution
  • Self-motivation, proactivity, and the ability to challenge the status quo in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail, the ability to concentrate, and the ability to take responsibility for tasks and see them through to completion
  • Strong team management and organizational skills
  • Previous experience working with other groups and teams, including external auditors
  • Strong Excel and data manipulation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate in writing, with a focus on written materials

  • Proactivity and assertiveness, as well as creating value for customers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple deliveries
