Compliance Controls Expert
The Compliance Controls Expert assists the compliance department in managing and controlling risks and is responsible for developing, documenting, and maintaining the compliance control framework. The position requires experience in international banking, auditing, or risk management, as well as a university degree in banking and/or finance.
About the job
The Compliance Controls Expert supports the Compliance Department in managing and controlling various types of risks. The Compliance Controls Expert is responsible for maintaining the control framework, conducting independent risk-based controls, and monitoring the effectiveness of the first line of defense (L1LoD).Tasks
The tasks include:- Support in the development, documentation, and maintenance of the 2nd Line of Defense (2LoD) Compliance Control Framework across various business units and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Design, implementation, and improvement of preventive and detective controls to mitigate relevant risks.
- Development and maintenance of a Standard Operating Manual to document the final steps and procedures for the inspections.
- Maintenance of the central repository for controls and related documentation.
- Participate in change management initiatives by evaluating and proposing improvements to the control framework that are necessary when processes are changed or new products or business lines are introduced.
- Definition of the consequence management protocol for identified control exceptions.
Control Execution
The tasks include:- Conducting independent controls as defined in the Compliance Control Framework, in accordance with the Bank’s risk and control methodology, and documenting results and exceptions in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintaining appropriate audit documentation and reviewing evidence as appropriate.
- Collaborate with and provide guidance to responsible parties to ensure that timely corrective actions are taken in response to identified control exceptions.
- Delegation of consequence management to designated individuals in accordance with established protocols.
Risk and Control Assessment
The tasks include:- Collaborate with policy and process owners and relevant stakeholders to identify control gaps, assess risk exposure, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitoring and reporting on control performance indicators, including deficiencies, exceptions, and progress in resolving them, to provide management with clear insights.
- Supporting and conducting periodic risk and control assessments, led and supported by Head Office/Operational Risk.
- Supporting and conducting thematic risk assessments, as needed.
Requirements
The requirements include:- A university degree or equivalent education in banking and/or finance.
- International experience in banking, auditing, or risk management.
