Compliance Officer

Banque Cantonale de Fribourg is seeking a Compliance Officer to oversee compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and strengthen the compliance function within the bank. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a compliance officer at a bank, as well as a very good understanding of banking regulations.

What can you expect?

The following responsibilities are part of this position:
  • Monitoring Compliance with Legal and Regulatory Requirements
  • Processing and monitoring high-risk business relationships and transactions, as well as coordinating their handling and review
  • Assessment of the Establishment of Business Relationships
  • Processing correspondence related to sanctions, embargoes, and politically exposed persons (PEPs)
  • Managing Correspondent Banks: KYC
  • Monitoring of obligations under AIA/QI/FATCA and verification of reports
  • Training, consulting, and support for employees in the areas of anti-money laundering and other compliance topics
  • Management of the Compliance Committee Secretariat
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and participating in their implementation
  • Contributing to the strengthening and further development of the compliance function within the bank

What do you bring with you?

The following requirements are necessary:
  • Extensive experience as a compliance officer at a bank, in risk management, or in internal audit, as well as a very good understanding of banking regulations, particularly with regard to the Anti-Money Laundering Act (including the FINMA Anti-Money Laundering Ordinance and the Swiss Banking Association’s guidelines)
  • A strong interest in law, particularly banking law and its ongoing development
  • Excellent knowledge of French and German (at least C1)
  • Stylistically Sound Written Expression
  • Higher education in economics, white-collar crime, law, compliance, or a related field
