Compliance Officer Client & Transaction Monitoring (100%)

Incore Bank AG is seeking a Compliance Officer Client & Transaction Monitoring (100%) for its office in Madrid, who will be responsible for monitoring transactions and performing due diligence checks. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in compliance or client onboarding, a university degree in business administration, economics, or law, and fluent English.

Tasks

In this challenging position, you will be primarily responsible for performing plausibility checks on high-risk transactions, while ensuring that onboarding, periodic reviews, and all other daily compliance tasks are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard. You will:
  • Support transaction monitoring activities with a focus on crypto/DLT nexus business
  • conduct further clarifications and investigations of suspicious payments and patterns
  • Perform detailed background checks on customer profiles, including further clarifications with the front/first line.
  • Identify contractual partners and verify the determination of beneficial owners
  • Perform independent risk classification of customer relationships and periodic review obligations
  • Be responsible for the timely and high-quality completion of onboarding, periodic reviews, and changes in circumstances.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence checks on new and existing customers, including verification of licenses, regulatory status, business models, and planned transactions.
  • Perform transaction analyses and customer activity checks to evaluate transaction behavior
  • Analyze formal tax compliance matters (FATCA, DAC6, QI, CRS)
  • Review submitted lists of beneficial owners and evaluate PEP/SAN and adverse media lists
  • Process ad hoc requests from the front line/first line
  • Fill out counterparty questionnaires
  • Conduct internal training for employees in the above-mentioned areas.
  • Act as the point of contact for the Business Support Center regarding customer monitoring issues
  • Handle standard compliance cases independently and refer more complex cases to senior compliance officers when necessary.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • a university degree in business administration, economics, or law
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in compliance or customer onboarding, periodic reviews, and transaction analysis within the financial industry, including changes in circumstances.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial products and markets, as well as in-depth knowledge and practical experience in the holistic assessment of complex client structures.
  • Responsibility for results that are completed on time and to a high standard
  • fluent English (written and spoken)
